Valentine's Day is literally the sweetest holiday of the year and with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we have come up with super fun ways to make it a super special one.
Your day is only as special as you make it and it's important to make an effort and that is what we are here to help with.
Here are a few fun suggestions to help couples plan for a memorable and romantic day even in lockdown.
1. Movie Night
Get your popcorn ready and your snacks, it's snuggle-time. Cinemas are closed right now so what's better than creating a movie night. You can make it themed; Rom-com, action, comedy. The list is endless so feet up and get your Netflix (or Prime) on :)
You don't have to be Picasso or Andy Warhol to enjoy painting.
Set up indoors and explore your creativity. You can buy inexpensive blank canvasses from Amazon, eBay and loads of other stores. Find a subject to paint and you can even having a healthy competition on who paints the closest to the inspiration.
3. Virtual Cooking Class
There is literally a class for every cuisine/dish you can think of. So find a suitable class and sign up as a couple.
Create the dish together from the comfort of your own home and tuck in. Yay teamwork :)
4. Games Night
Nothing wrong with a little competition.
There are tons of two-player games; Jenga, Scrabble, Connect 4 and loads more.
Line up a few games for the night, draw up a leaderboard and may the best gamer win.
You can decide the prize ;)
5. Set up a Fort
Let's take it back to childhood memories. You can create a fort with some fairy lights, fancy cushions, cosy throws and drape some sheets and make it more grown-up. Setting up together is a fun activity.
Once you're done you can literally do whatever you want in the fort. Share memories, read a book, tell some stories or just simply hang out.
6. Indoor Picnic
Get the blankets out, a picnic basket and light a few candles to set the scene. A great Valentine's Day date idea. You can go as over-the-top as you want with the food or as simple as you want it.
Pinterest is your best friend when it comes to ideas for platters or charcuterie boards. Super simple and cost-effective date idea to get the wow factor.
7. Takeaway Night or Private Dining
If you can't be bothered to cook then you have two choices.
Get a safety-compliant private chef or order in, whether it's Pizza, Thai, Italian or Indian. It's always the thought that counts.
You can even get us to decorate your space for you :)
8. Bake Together
Do you both have a sweet tooth? Whether it's for red-velvet or brownies, get all the ingredients and go crazy with Google and YouTube. What better excuse do you need to indulge.
Get some heart-shaped pans or cutters to fit in with the season and some pink or red sprinkles.
9. Create a Spa Day
With spas closed , you can recreate a spa day indoors complete with an afternoon tea.
All you need is a massage tool, massage oils/scrub, a steamer and relax the day away.
A cute date and also a great way to de-stress.
10. Recreate your First Date
You don't have to break the bank for Valentine's Day. It's all about the sentiment and the thought that goes into the day.
What better way to celebrate than to recreate your first date whether it was a trip to Venice or a meal at Nando's. You can wear the same outfit when you met for the first time (if you can still fit lol) or order the same meal. This will definitely get the butterflies going all over again and it doesn't get more sentimental and meaningful than that.
Not really an activity but we just wanted to mention this as a tip.
Get them a cleaner. Lockdown has taken a toll on and turned a lot of us into Hinchers lol. So it would be a nice surprise to not have to worry about it for a little while.
This will definitely go a long way!
